Six residential towers for home swap housing will be built on Lot A

Macau Urban Renewal Company (MUR) will start the flat selection process for home swap housing units on Lot P in Areia Preta in May. MUR will send an SMS notification to eligible applicants to attend an explanatory meeting. In the meantime, a registered mail will be sent out to notify them the date, time and procedure of flat selection.

According to Executive Order No. 89/2019, the two phases for original ‘Pearl Horizon’ pre-sale buyers to register for the purchase of home swap housing is from 17 June 2019 to 16 August 2019. MUR sent out a written notification to all applicants the result of their application within 30 days after the registration period. To date, of the 1,932 applications that have registered their properties, 1,902 have been accepted and 30 are still being suspended for handling. Moreover, 12 applications have been rejected because they have failed to register their properties. MUR rejected these applications in accordance with relevant laws and orders.

Based on the layout plan of Lot P, six residential towers for home swap housing will be built on Lot A, providing about 2,000 units for eligible applicants who are original ‘Pearl Horizon’ pre-sale buyers affected by the cancellation of a previous land concession. The original unit design of ‘Pearl Horizon’ has more than ten types of units. In accordance with the abovementioned order, MUR designed the home swap housing units with reference to the size and design standards of the original project, and all home swap housing units are within the range of five percent of the original units’ saleable area.

MUR will hold home swap housing flat selection explanatory meetings in phases from May for eligible applicants, explaining in details about the flat selection procedure and the similar home swap housing unit type available for pairing. MUR will notify the accepted eligible applicants via SMS to attend the explanatory meetings.

Eligible buyers have to be at MUR’s office on the date and time specified in a registered mail for flat selection and sign a letter of intent for the confirmation of the flat selected. If applicant is unable to be present at the specified date and time, the applicant can sign a legally valid letter of authorisation, entrusting another person to attend and assist in flat selection.

The construction of home swap housing units will be completed by the end of 2024. Eligible applicants do not need to make any pre-payments at this stage. MUR urges relevant applicants to pay attention to receiving an SMS and a registered mail. Those who fail to be present at the specified time will be moved down the queue for flat selection. For more information, please call MUR on 2888 2263 during office hours (Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
