“Pearl Metropolitan” home-swap housing project is now complete construction
The “Pearl Metropolitan” home-swap housing project on Lot P in the new reclamation area of Areia Preta has completed construction and is undergoing acceptance procedures. At present, Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) is progressively allowing applicants eligible for home-swap to visit and inspect the units they intend to purchase.
Last year, the “Macau New Neighbourhood” (MNN) in Hengqin received widespread recognition for hosting various large festive events. This year, the first large-scale event, titled “Happy Lantern Festival”, will be held on Sunday, February 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lotus Square in the New Neighbourhood. The event will feature numerous activities, including handicraft workshops, game booths, performances, etc. We welcome everyone to experience the exciting festive atmosphere of the MNN.
Adjustment to criteria to purchase Macau New Neighbourhood effective today
The criteria to purchase a residential unit at Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) in Hengqin has been adjusted, including removing the age limit, removing the five-year resale restriction, and adjusting the calculation of the amount of residential unit that one can purchase, which means eligible Macau residents are no longer bound by the restriction where a married couple is counted as one unit. The adjustments are effective today. MNN is open to holders of Macau resident identity card to purchase.
MUR launches Macau New Neighbourhood official account on WeChat
For the general public to have easier access to the latest information about Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) and for a better user experience, Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) has launched an official account “MNN_Hengqin” on WeChat where the public can find updates about the neighbourhood and its latest happenings.
‘MNN Racing Carnival’ to take place on November 16
The “Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region – MNN Racing Carnival” will take place on November 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring virtual reality (VR) racing experience, remote control (RC) car racing challenge, innovative race car-themed landscape art workshop and STEAM classroom, all admission free.
Iao Hon Estate completes setting-up of property owners’ management
Having been in constant communication with property owners of over 2,000 households, MUR has assisted the setting up of management committees (colloquially known as property owners’ associations) of a total of 46 buildings from the seven plots of land that make up Iao Hon Estate.

To bring people and the community together, Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) has been hosting a series of activities in Hengqin such as games, shows, lucky draws, workshops, market stalls during Lantern Festival, Women’s Day and Children’s Day, which have been like by Macau and Hengqin residents.
Double celebrations: ‘Mid-Autumn Festival at Macau New Neighbourhood’ to take place on 15 September
As Mid-Autumn Festival draws near, Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) in Hengqin will hold “Mid-Autumn Festival at Macau New Neighbourhood” on 15 September (Sunday) from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. to mark the festive season with people from Hengqin and Macau in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Macao SAR.
MNN shops gradually opening, providing convenience for residents’ everyday needs
The first shop at MNN officially opened for business in June, followed by convenience store, coffee shop and a package delivery and pickup point. Other shops such as a fast food restaurant, food and beverage outlets, a supermarket and a hair salon among others, are in the fitout process and are expected to be operational in August.
Temporary housing project set for completion this year
To provide temporary accommodation for property owners affected by urban renewal project where their properties are being redeveloped, the temporary housing project located on Lot P in Areia Preta saw the topping out of the main structures of the eight residential towers in December 2023. After the topping out, fitting-out works began and scaffolding removal work on the external walls is currently underway. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Children’s Funday at MNN rescheduled to this Saturday
Children’s Funday at MNN is being rescheduled to 8 June (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., where the public are welcome to enjoy a day of family fun time at Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN).
