‘Macau New Neighbourhood’ project gets underway.

Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) is launching the “Macau New Neighbourhood” (MNN) project in Hengqin in accordance with the work schedule, having completed the design layout plan of the project and pre-drilling works for soil investigation.

The company recently held the pre-qualification tendering of the project’s contractors and received documents submitted by 13 groups of construction companies interested in taking part in the project. The company will proceed with the tender process shortly.

MUR is actively coordinating and following up with the Zhuhai-Macau joint integrated livelihood project – MNN in Hengqin. In April, representatives from Zhuhai and Macau signed an agreement to transfer use of the land lots to build a multi-functional community in Hengqin that integrates housing, education, elderly care and health care, providing one more home purchase option for Macau residents.

MUR held a pre-qualification tendering of the project’s contractors in May and as of the application closing date, a total of 13 groups of companies showed interest in taking part in the project as the main contractor, some of which were local construction companies. All companies have submitted their pre-qualification documents according to the requirements published on MUR’s official website.

The layout plan design, pile foundation and foundation pit support design for MNN have all been finalised, and pre-drilling works for soil investigation has begun. MUR will subsequently apply for the building permit and carry out the tender process accordingly.
