MUR welcomes two newly appointed BODs

Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) welcomes professor Sheng Li and Wang Yu to the board of directors for a term of three years with effect from today (26 March).

 

According to the chief executive order No.79/2020 published in the Official Gazettes (BO) on 25 March 2021, two persons were appointed to serve as MUR board of directors. The two new board of directors are from academia with rich academic knowledge and outstanding research achievements. The relevant resumes are as follows:

 

Sheng, an associate dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Macau, holds a doctoral degree from the University of Freiburg (Universität Freiburg) in Germany. Sheng’s research interest focuses on urban, tourism and international political economy. Besides, Sheng served as a member of the Economic Development Committee and Public Services and Organisational Performance Evaluation Committee of the Macau SAR Government.

 

Wang, a professor of the Institute of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Development Studies of Sun Yat-Sen University, holds a doctoral degree from Peking University Law School. Wang is also a former associate professor of the Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology.

 

Moreover, Wang has been engaged in the study of "One Country, Two Systems" and the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macau for a long period of time, and also served as a member of Macau Special Administrative Region Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.

 

The members of MUR board of directors are professionals from a wide spectrum of sectors such as architectural, electromechanical, legal and academic, among others, and possess extensive executing experience and expertise.

 

All board of directors look forward to working with the new members, and jointly contribute to the city’s urban renewal.

 

As an executing entity responsible for urban renewal in Macau, MUR is tasked with the mission of pushing forward urban renewal. The board of directors, as always, will look for sincere co-operation and keep in close communication with stakeholders and the team, with the aim of promoting the progress of urban renewal and improving residents’ quality of life in old districts.
