Chan pointed out that the “Legal Framework for the Provision of Temporary Housing and Home Swap Housing under the Urban Renewal Scheme” provides a legal foundation for the construction of temporary housing and home swap housing units, in addition, MUR will be responsible for the construction of the above-mentioned units. Chan said that the application period for “Pearl Horizon” pre-sale buyers to purchase home swap housing units ended on 16 August and relevant work is gradually progressing well.

Representatives of the association expressed their gratitude to the government, MUR and all sectors of society. They said that they were pleased to see related work is actively being pushed forward, besides, they hope to know more about the construction schedule of home swap housing units as well as information such as the project’s building standards, layout plan and auxiliary facilities.

In response to the representatives’ questions, Lam said that the construction of home swap housing units meets the housing standards of the private sector to ensure that the buildings are of quality and that they are safe to live in, adding that space has been reserved in Lot P for the construction of auxiliary facilities, a clubhouse and a car park. Moreover, Lam pointed out that some land lots have been reserved for an improved transport infrastructure in the community and that it would take time to refine for a more detailed planning.

According to Lam, 1,022 applications for the purchase of home swap housing units have been accepted as of now, the results of the remaining applications will be sent to the applicants by mail within 30 days after the end of the application period.
